Your domain name is an important part of your business branding and identity. If you are a business with an Australian Business Number (ABN) then it is important for you to secure your Australian domain name in cyberspace. And... the longer you leave it the more difficult it will be to secure the name that is right for you.

While anyone can register most of the international names (including .com, .net, .info, etc.), there are guidelines restricting use of .com.au, .net.au, .org.au and other Australian domain names. You can read the auda guidelines here. Already in Australia, there are businesses taking advantage of the wording in the guidelines and registering popular names that they may not necessarily be entitled to, but because the auda does not seem to be able to enforce the guidelines, they are currently getting away with this.
